日本の近隣諸国である、北朝鮮・ロシア・中国 の動向や、日米安全保障条約の実効性を踏まえていく必要がある。
2022年度頃から5年以内を目処に、抜本的な防衛力の強化が計画されている。
他の課題のための予算
日本は人口減少の課題を抱えている。防衛費を抑えることで、例えば子育てにかかるコストをサポートする等、出生率の低下や晩婚化の解消につながる政策を実現することが可能となる。

I think that Japan should spend more money on defense.
I have two reasons to support my opinion.
Firstly, Japan's defense budget is already lower than other countries.
There are a variety of threats around Japan.

As for Russia, the invasion of Ukraine is a concern, and as for China, the Taiwan contingency is a concern.
Under the Japan-US security treaty, the US military is supposed to be deployed to defend Japan in the event that Japan is attacked by another country.
However, given the geographical distance between Japan and US, it will take time for the US military to begin providing assistance.
It is essential to ensure our own defense power for national security.
Actually, drastic reinforcement of defense capabilities is planned within five years, starting in FY2022.
Secondly, increasing the defense budget has side benefits.
For example, the maintenance of military facilities and the production of weapons create job opportunities.
Also, research and development for the military can lead to technological advances.
The Internet and microwave ovens were born from military experiments.
Having such new technologies will improve people's quality of life and productivity.
In conclusion, although budgets for other issues such as population decline are also needed, Japan should spend more money on defense.
